YOUNG LEADERS

Friends ,

‘Be the change that you want to see in the world’. This single thought anchor has made the ‘Mahatma’ out of a MK Gandhi, unleashing the greatest revolution in the world.

Today we open the newspaper to wake up to the sorry state of affairs around us and almost every morning we all wish for a ‘changed world’. But we usually look around and yearn for that change essentially outside of us, wanting it to somehow happen either by itself, engaging in blaming people and circumstances.

The lives of great leaders have been great testaments to us in this regard. They have proved to us beyond all doubts that the process of change actually starts with us, following the principle ‘from the Centre to the Circumference’. Therefore changing the world begins with changing the Man, changing the Man begins with changing his mind and changing his mind begins with change in his thought process. The thought of ‘Doing’ something about it; something meaningful and concrete, even well within one’s own sphere of influence. The time to take this individual as well collective responsibility to remedy the situation around us is here. Right now!

The inspiring thought of QUID FACIAM ‘What can I Do’ -to self initiate that desirable change by each one of us-by Skill based Volunteerism has tremendous potential to create a huge positive difference to our own respective ecosystems. I am sure with Inspiration, Initiative and Involvement, we all can start extending ourselves a little bit, to reach out those not as privileged as most of us.

“Never doubt that a small group of committed individuals can change the world- indeed, it is the only thing that ever has”- said Margaret Mead. I invite you all to stop for a while being problem finders, and start becoming the solution finders. By the Power of One and the Strength of Many, let us join hands, take a few strides forward to challenge together the status quo and start being the change we always wanted to see.
